Michael Brown, MD
Specialty
Knee Surgery
Dr. Michael Brown is originally from Oklahoma and grew up with a love of all sports. He attended and played football at the University of Oklahoma; he then went to medical school at the same institution. Dr. Brown’s association with the team medical staff both as a patient and assistant led him to an Orthopedic residency at Washington University, St. Louis. He chose a fellowship in joint reconstruction because of his desire to work with active adults, especially senior citizens.
Dr. Brown’s practice includes general sports medicine as well as primary and revision total joint surgery. He has been working as a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for 20 years and he says “it never gets old”. He considers it a privilege to be able to care for people – to evaluate their problems and carry out a treatment plan, with compassion and professionalism.
Dr. Brown has noticed that the biggest change over the years is the average age of his total joint patients – it has gotten much lower. People are more active now and want to stay that way. Arthritis is not a condition of old age, and the main reason to have surgery is to improve one’s quality of life. Dr. Brown has 4 daughters, all living in the Northwest in college and graduate schools. He likes to be outdoors enjoying the sun, whether it is playing tennis, golf, biking, or following his daughters playing soccer.
