Ronald Koe, M.D., was raised in Woodland Hills, California . He graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and cell biology. After leaving the sunny beaches of Del Mar, he attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990. He graduated in the top one-quarter of his medical school class receiving honors in surgery. From there, he completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Louis University in Missouri.
Dr. Koe has been in private practice in the Henderson, Nevada area since 1997. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a sub-specialty certification in sports medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He holds membership in many medical organizations including the American Medical Association, the Nevada State Medical Association, and the Clark County Medical Society.
Dr. Koe is a general orthopedic surgeon with special interests in sports medicine and arthroscopic, minimally invasive, surgery. His main areas of treatment concerns are disorders and injuries of the shoulder and knee. He regularly attends continuing education courses to bring his patients the most up-to-date treatment modalities. As a consultant for orthopedic companies, he is able to share cutting-edge knowledge with his patients. He interviews, examines, and discusses treatment one-on-one with every patient. He has been a featured guest on Smitty’s Sportstalk radio discussing sports medicine topics. He is the team physician for the national champion Findlay Prep Pilots basketball program.
Dr. Koe lives in Green Valley Ranch. He is the proud father of four children and one grandbaby. Although the overwhelming majority of his time is devoted to work and family, he regularly engages in physical fitness and yoga. He also participates in taekwondo, hunting, fishing, and an occasional round of golf or tennis.
